Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our companion animals, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination for healthy mature pets and semi-annual physical examinations for senior pets or those pets with a serious illness. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your pets feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:

Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pet's complete health care needs.

Surgical Services:

Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.  We can also have board certified surgeons perform procedures in our hospital.

Anesthesia:

We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are closely monitored during all anesthetic procedures.

Specialist consults:

We offer referrals for ophthalmology, neurology, surgery, oncology, internal medicine,  dermatology,  and radiology to help us with the diagnosis and/or treatment of more complicated cases.

Radiology Services:

Our digital x-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.  Digital radiography is a safer alternative because radiation exposure is minimized as the need for repetitive radiographs is greatly reduced.

Ultrasonography Services:

Our 3-D digital ultrasound with color flow doppler technology allows us to visualize the internal structures of the abdomen and thorax as well as other regions such as the neck and limbs.  The 3-D technology allows us to freeze an image of interest and rotate it on the screen to view it in three dimensions.  It enables us to see the size and shape of the abnormality along with the other structures it may be touching.  Color flow doppler allows us to assess the flow of blood leading to or from an organ.

Electrocardiography Services:

We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists. We also have telemedicine ECG capabilities.

Dentistry:

Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Laboratory:

Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Permanent identification:

We offer microchip identification and registration.

Pharmacy:

We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, joint supplements, fatty acids, behavioral modifiers, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets from Purina and Royal Canin.

Individualized Vaccine Programs:

We offer 1-year and 3-year vaccine protocols to meet the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best protocol for your pet based on age, lifestyle, and health status.

Dietary Counseling:

We provide guidance regarding your pets' nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance, and special needs for those with a life-long illness.  We carry prescription Purina and Royal Canin diets to meet the specific nutritional needs of your companion.

Emergency Care:

We will provide emergency care for your pet during regular business hours. Please call 702-260-6260 for instructions of after-hour emergencies.
